Marine Animals in Boa Vista!

Boa Vista is one of the most unique islands in Cape Verde providing a breeding area for humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae), a nesting area for loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) and shark nursery grounds for milk sharks (Rhizoprionodon acutus), black tip sharks (Carcharhinus limbatus), Atlantic weasel sharks (Paragaleus pectoralis), scalloped hammerhead sharks (Sphyrna lewini) and nurse sharks (Ginglymostoma cirratum). Deep blue fish like the wahoo or the common dolphinfish and coral fish like blue tangs, parrotfish and squirrelfish swim around the island and make diving and snorkeling in Cape Verde an unforgettable experience.
